Memorial website in the memory of your loved one
His legacy
-

Born near the Canadian border in North Dakota, Robert drifted south eventually settling in western Wyandotte County, Kansas.  An avid sportsman, Robert often returned to his home to hunt the abundant deer and wild turkey.  Above the fireplace at one of Robert's favorite haunts, there hangs a massive buffalo mount taken on one of these trips.  Robert's home mirrored a hunting lodge, a beautiful ranch overlooking a valley and two ponds, built by Robert's own hands.  His home featured many representations of his Native American ancestry and the land he loved so well.

I knew Robert Chase to be a man of honor.  True to his word, a handshake from Bob was a bond not to be broken.  His sense of fair play and personal integrity made Robert many friends in both business and his personal life.

Robert Chase met his end in one of those senseless, tragic accidents that happen far too often.  Like being hit by a stray bullet or struck by lightning, Robert's encounter with an in-attentive driver on a narrow rural two lane brought an end to a career of being an outstanding human being.  I feel privileged to have known Robert for a good part of his time here in Kansas.  We rolled around many miles together, doing what we do so well.  It will take a while to get used to the fact
that the pipes I hear beside me are not those of my long time friend, and the drink that lands in front of me when I walk into the bar will be coming from another; just as old and just as true.  I will miss Robert the rest of my days, but I have been blessed with many close friends, with whom I will share my remaining life, and I will savor every moment - for I know now how fragile this world really is.

Bob Chase, say "hey" to everybody and be sure to save us a table by the window.  From all of us to you, Vaya con Dios, Amigo.

A fathers touch, a daddy's kiss,
A grieving daughter, you're greatly missed.
An empty house, an empty chair,
A father's love, no longer there.
A broken heart, a tear filled eye,
Another angel to fill the sky.
Many memories in my mind,
Some I laugh, some I cry.
The times we shared, the laughs we had,
Things I miss when I think of you Dad.
Realizing that's all I have to hold on to,
Only memories, of what were once you,
Missing your laugh, I will never again hear.
That is the reality that fills me with so much fear.
Not seeing the smile on your face,
No more warmth of your embrace.
The last hug, the last kiss,
The last "goodbye" leaves me with one last wish...
To have you Dad, here today,
Never to leave your daughter this way.
A father's touch, a daddy's kiss,
A grieving daughter, you are greatly missed!

I Love You Dad!
Love Always, Vanessa
